Concept Feasibility
Very few ideas are perfect from the start, especially ideas that address complex business needs and require articulation, development, and adaptation to the existing framework of a business.
V-Concepts can help you craft a conceptual outline for your idea by, building an initial set of business and technical requirements that can be expanded upon as the project advances. By employing focus groups and early feasibility studies into a concept, V-Concepts can identify opportunities and challenges, as well as potential weaknesses and flaws.
Preparation is vital in our line of work. There is no better or more cost-efficient way to recognize opportunities, and anticipate weaknesses or shortcomings that can be compensated for as the project advances. During this “pre-project” period, our team also researches factors like saturation; communication; customer readiness for, or resistance to, change; and political ramifications that may present challenges to the project. Alternative strategies can also be reviewed, cost benefit analysis conducted and projected results evaluated to determine financial backing and the overall marketability of the completed project.
As the concept moves forward a project charter is drafted. The document defines the scope of the effort and identifies the project’s sponsors and stakeholders, as well as milestones and expectations. Once the project charter is set we work with our customers to define requirements for the solution.
Requirements are more than a wish list of features that the acceptable solution will have. They must be achievable within budget, quantifiable, and testable. We help customers define the project requirements through in-depth questions with stakeholders, reviews of current system architecture and system interfaces, and detailed analysis of the environment and other factors. When complete, a project charter can be readily turned into a Statement of work (SOW) for procurement and other competitive offers.
